To reset your progress in the app, go to the Settings tab (gear icon in the bottom-right corner), then tap Reset Progress. You'll be asked to confirm before anything is deleted. This will clear all your swipe history, streak data, and known/unknown card states โ€” your word lists and photos will remain intact.

Alternatively, you can delete and reinstall the app. Since all data is stored on-device, a fresh install starts from scratch.

PassGREGMAT includes two curated word decks:

  • GRE Deck โ€” 800+ high-frequency GRE words, sourced from 10 years of ETS practice tests and real student exam reports. Difficulty tags: Easy, Medium, Hard.
  • GMAT Deck โ€” 500+ words targeted at GMAT Verbal section (Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning contexts), aligned with the GMAT Focus Edition.

Every word is paired with a curated, high-resolution photo and an example sentence that shows the word used in a realistic context.

The GRE deck focuses on advanced vocabulary that appears in the GRE Verbal Reasoning section โ€” Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence questions. Words tend to be more literary and abstract (e.g., ephemeral, laconic, sanguine).

The GMAT deck focuses on vocabulary relevant to the GMAT Verbal section, especially Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning. Words tend to be more business and argument-oriented (e.g., ubiquitous, pragmatic, tenuous).

There is some overlap, and we recommend studying both decks if you are applying to MBA programs that accept either exam.

Spaced repetition is a learning technique that schedules reviews at increasing intervals based on how well you know each word.

When you swipe right (Know It), the word is scheduled to reappear after a longer interval โ€” first after 1 day, then 3 days, then 7 days, then 14 days. Each successful recall pushes the interval further out.

When you swipe left (Don't Know), the word is scheduled to reappear soon โ€” usually within the same session or the next day โ€” until you've demonstrated solid recall multiple times.

This approach, based on the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve, maximises long-term retention while minimising total review time.

Yes! PassGREGMAT is designed to work fully offline once installed. All word data, definitions, and progress tracking are stored on your device. The only time an internet connection is needed is to load word-illustration photos (served from Unsplash CDN). A future update will include the option to pre-download all images for completely offline use.

PassGREGMAT is free to download and includes access to a starter set of words from both the GRE and GMAT decks โ€” enough to experience the full visual learning method. Pricing details will be shown in the App Store listing.
